Different Types Of Visas Provided By China

Visas are an important document for any person looking to enjoy the Chinese culture by visiting the country. Visitors to China can apply for a visa at the Chinese consulates or embassies in their respective countries. Before visiting the consulates, it is important to determine the type of visa that one requires in order to get in to the country.

A person will need to apply for a tourism gateway if his intentions are to visit this country for tourism purposes. This particular gateway comes in two main forms. There is the single entry and the double entry visa. When submitting your application, a copy of your travel itinerary must be submitted to the relevant officials.

Businessmen and individuals looking to visit this country for official purposes have a special type of visa that they need apply for. The multi entry visa can either be valid for one year or half a year. To access this visa, you need to have with you an official letter of invitation from a Chinese department.

If looking to work there, one will need to apply for an employment visa. This is ideal for scholars, teachers, managers and even foreign experts. The applicant should be in a position to supply the stamped letter of employment.

A student visa is also available for students looking to advance their studies in Chinese based schools. For student visas, you must supply both the original and photocopied letters from the ministry of education. The original letter of admission from the university is also required as well as a health certificate.

Those on transit from one country to the next will require a transit visa. Individuals and citizens from countries such as Ireland may not need the visa. They are allowed to be in the country for a period of about twenty four hours.

Journalists are also required to apply for a special visa if looking to cover news within the Chinese boundaries. A journalist must be in a position to provide an application letter from the news agency that he is affiliated to. In addition, the interviewee should also furnish the officers with the invitation letter.

Crew members working on ships and trains need to submit applications for crew members visa. Unlike the other visas, this is a document that will be heavily influenced by the type of bilateral agreements that have already been signed. Letters may also be required from the companies that the crew members are working for.
