When You Recycle Tires What Occurs

By George Dodson

So many cars can be seen today. Tires are essential for all the cars. There are a wide variety of sizes and types of tires available. Tires are required for both small and large vehicles. Most of the tires wear out after some time. It is required that you make some decision at that time. You have to do something with it. In the tire outlets, if you buy new tires, they generally take those tires. They discard them sometimes. Other times, the stores determine if there is tread life on the tires and put them up for sale to people who are just looking for a spare.

What happens when a tire is recycled?

Tires are one of the largest sources of garbage worldwide. Most of the states are dotted by large tire firms. These comprises of thousands of tires. These tires are of little use. They can be turned into ?crumb?. These product are used mostly as filler.

Most landfills do not want used tires as they take a lot of space. They can also trap large amounts of methane gas. They become buoyant and rise to the surface. The liners mainly keep the contents from damaging the groundwater in the area. Tires tend to upset this process.

A number of companies is now starting to find more uses for these tires Ground up tires can also be used as fillers. This can also be used as a cap on landfills. The convenience of this is that the tires can be shredded onsite instead of being hauling in other filler materials.

Tires are also used in hot melt asphalt. This product is used in replacement asphalt. It is also used in certain kinds of concretes as a filler. Old tires are sometimes used by people in home and gardens. They are used to make flowerbeds. The grindings are used as mulch in gardens.

Old tires are turned into gas fuel with the process of pyrolysis. The process of devulcanization is used to turn old tires into crumb. The material can also be used for creating new tires. It reduces raw material costs.

The process works by heating the tires whole or in shreds, in a huge vessel, in an oxygen free environment. The rubber when gets soft breaks down into smaller molecules. These smaller molecules vaporize and leave the reactor. The vapors are burnt to use as a power source. Most of the companies use this process. This is good for the environment and good for companies wanting a good source of this type of fuel.
