How To Have A Healthy Lawn Thru Lawn Aeration

By Timothy Price

Lawn is another important part in our home that needs much attention. This area makes our house look more attractive, especially if they are healthy. It also gives us a clean and fresh air since they consist of different kinds of plants.

This is an area of soil planted mostly with grasses, but is also planted with other durable plants which are often maintained at a short height using a lawnmower. Like any other plants, this also needs to be taken care of and must be maintained. It does not only make our house beautiful but it also give us a fresh air to breathe so we must take care of it, like doing a lawn aeration denver.

You can definitely differentiate healthy lawns from an unhealthy one. An unhealthy one usually looks very dry and the color is already becoming brown, while the healthy ones looks very fresh and green. Here are some useful tips that you must consider in order to have that healthy one.

Setting your soil. In order to have a good one, preparing and setting your soil must be done first. Regardless of what kind of planting method that you will use as long as the soils are in good condition, then you are good to go. As what they say, preparation is always the key to achieve anything that you wanted to achieve so prepare properly the soil and mixed it with loam and compost.

Shave it. Just like the hair of the people, grasses or any other plants never stop growing so they need to be cut. Cut them using your lawnmower but you must be extra careful when doing such. You must only cut the upper layer of the grass, or about one third of it. Taller grass actually promotes a better root growth.

Water them. Of course, one very important thing that makes the plants alive is the water so water it. Watering them must be done at least once a week, but during dry seasons, you can water it thrice. In order to know how much water it needs, take into consideration the type of soil that you have. Take note that clay soils holds the moisture longer compared to sandy soils, so it is the sandy soils which need a lot of water since it dries faster.

Feeding time. Lawns need to be fed with fertilizers every once in a while. This is a very important element in making them fresh and always be in a good condition. You may actually buy a fertilizer in your nearest gardening store but be sure that the fertilizer that you will buy is also suitable to your soil.

Give them air. While you are experiencing the fresh feeling that your they have given to you, you must also let them experience it. Allow it to breathe once in a while through the use of aeration. This is the process where you poke deeply enough that would make a hole so that oxygen can come in into the soil.

These lawns are also essential part of our house. We need to maintain their beauty and to do that, we must first give attention to their health like properly mowing them and watering them often. By following these simple tips, you could be reassured that they would always look beautiful.
