The CLIA Mentoring Program which works in conjunction with the Community Law in Action Corporate Mentoring Program is an extension of CLIA's Law and Leadership Academy which is held at several high schools in the Baltimore area. In this case, it is a program which assist students in locating internships while also reinforcing existing skills. In most cases, these internships are often the first exposure students have to a professional workplace.
A collaborative effort between several law firms and the Attorney General work to attract a number of diverse students whom have shown exceptional leadership qualifies. In most cases, the students selected have also participated in community and public service programs and shown devotion towards the public good. Students lucky enough to be involved in these programs and internships can reflect such experience on college applications, often making it easier to get into a college of choice.
