The dispensing tip, also known as a dispense needle is a critical part of precision fluid dispensing systems. Therefore, when choosing such a tip, you should consider several factors. You do not want to choose just the tip that works, but rather one that is suited best for your application. Precision dispensing tips have varying gauges, lengths, threads and angles among other features meant to optimize dispensing repeatability and accuracy for each application and fluid type.

Many different kinds of dispense tips are available on the market. They include brush, blunt, PTFE-lined, tapered and angled blunt end dispense tips. Some of the materials used to make these products include stainless steel, Teflon and polypropylene. To dispense fluids properly, it is critical to select the appropriate dispense needle. Its choke point will limit the flow of thin fluids to ensure better process control. When dispensing solvents, it is advisable to choose a PTFE coated dispense tip. With such a needle, the fluid will not wick up on the exterior of the cannula because of the special exterior coating of the tip. This can improve repeatability and the accuracy of deposits.

Tapered tips are the best for dispensing fluids of thick viscosity. These needles increase the flow of fluids and can help you to get a great number of concise, consistent and accurate fluid deposits within a short period. With a tapered dispense tip, you can minimize the pressure on a pneumatic fluid dispenser.

Even though the dispose tips of one company may appear identical to those of another company, they are not the same. Therefore, ensure that the company you choose to buy dispense tips from adheres to a strict quality inspection process. The best dispense needles do not have molding flash or burrs that can contaminate your material or change the consistency of your fluid deposits.

You should confirm that the dispensing components such as the dispense needles, adapter assembly, syringe barrel and piston are designed to work together well. These components should offer precise and consistent fluid deposits without wasting a lot of fluid. This will translate to savings over the years.
