This is a problem much associated with the change in the atmospheric pressure and temperature from that of the transported oils. Scraping is an ancient method of removing the waxes from the wells. It involves the use of scraper lines to cut and trim the already formed layer of deposits. Someone will be forced to get into the well to scrap and remove any deposition be it clay or crystals. This is much efficient in ensuring total clearance of the unwanted and limiting deposit to pave the way for efficient harvesting of fluid.

As stated earlier temperature change is the main reasons why precipitation of wax occur in the transportation flow lines and the recovery systems. The best way to manage this problem by adding external heat to the system and minimizing the heat loss by insulating the flow lines. One way to add heat is by the installation of electric heaters down the hole near the production formation.

Another thermal mechanism is the use of hot oiling methodology. In this strategy, the warmed oil is utilized to break down the accumulated deposits in the flow lines. This is best done by infusing the hot oil down from the outside wall and up through the production tubing. To avoid the crystals from depositing themselves repeatedly, the temperatures must be maintained over time.

Hot water technique is also a widely used technique widely used in many areas. This technique involves pumping hot water down the casing and up the tubing to melt or increase the solubility of the formed wax in the produced oil that has accumulated in a production tubing. Heated water in the form of steam is also used in some regions in place of hot water.

Chemicals are known to inhibit the accumulation of paraffin deposit by altering with the adhering ability of wax crystals. Dispersant are chemical compounds which can keep the wax in a dispersed form of crude oil. They neutralize the attractive forces between the tubing walls and the paraffin crystals themselves, therefore, preventing the formation of crystal layers.

Utilization of dis-solvable mixes is likewise extremely compelling in preventing the manifestation of wax on the flow line surfaces. Some of these solvents utilized, for example, the gas, pentane and other fragrant mixes have the uncommon capacity to enter into the deposit and separate them from their deposition.

The use of crystal modifiers also has a lot of benefits and efficiency in dissolving the wax. These modifiers can inhibit the formation of paraffin wax by altering their crystallization. This alteration gives no chance for crystal growth. Furthermore, they may also adsorb on the paraffin preventing their deposition.
