Can A Social Media Agency Help Yooka-Laylee?

By Arthur Williams

There's no disputing the fact that there have been numerous video game-related projects on Kickstarter. Some of them have yielded more success than others, but few have gained the sheer traction that Yooka-Laylee has enjoyed. To say that this became popular in a short time would be nothing short of an understatement. A project like this deserves more traction, however, and it's possible that a social media agency can prove to be useful in this respect.

Yooka-Laylee is an upcoming video game, across all current-generation consoles, brought to us by former Rare employees. It's easy to see the type of influence that past Rare games, like Banjo-Kazooie and Banjo-Tooie, have had. It's been partially due to said influence that Yooka-Laylee has generated traffic, not to mention revenue, to be utilized for the future. However, those on the outside may not be too familiar with just how much popularity this endeavor has amassed.

Yooka-Laylee's Kickstarter went up with the initial goal of 175,000, which was meant within roughly over a half hour. To say that this was monumental would have been an understatement, since a day hadn't even passed until said goal was reached. By the end, it earned well over 2,090,000, making it the highest-funded UK video game project in the history of Kickstarter. With such success, though, one has to wonder if a social media agency can come into effect.

In my opinion, firms like fishbat should prove to be useful in this scenario, especially when given the numerous services they can offer. Social media management is just one of them, as everything from Facebook to Pinterest can be covered. What about SEO, which is something that is more deeply integrated into Google? These are just a few of the possible uses that a social media agency, of the highest caliber, may be able to offer.

Gamers will have their attention set on the progress of Yooka-Laylee, and understandably so. It has become such an intriguing project, and one that many people have high hopes for. After all, it brings back memories of a time when 3D platformers reigned atop the video game world, and it's possible that they can do so once more. It's just a matter of other companies taking a look at Yooka-Laylee, its popularity, and creating unique concepts based on that.
