Whistleblowers Against Fraud: How Consumers React To Hacking

It goes without saying that shoppers put, at the very least, some degree of trust into the stores that they frequent. They understand that these markets have been able to do well by them in the past, so what reasons do they have to move and bring their business to another outlet? Unfortunately, this has been the case for quite a few retail customers, as Whistleblowers Against Fraud will be able to tell you. Huffington Post put up an article that talked about a recent survey brought to retail customers. What the survey said was that 45% of said customers would "definitely not" or "probably not" shop at stores which have reported breeches in its credit data. These retailers include Target and Home Depot, which are amongst the most popular stores in the country. When many shoppers seem to be on the fence about doing business with these outlets, it's very telling.

The article made mention of the fact that a total of 48% of surveyed individuals would use cash for their purchases during the holidays. These types of financial attacks have gained quite a bit of notoriety and they should be looked over by authorities along the lines of Whistleblowers Against Fraud as well. Better protection should be set in place but what should this entail? I believe that information offered by WAF, as well as other reputable names, can prove useful.

For those who are curious about ways in which credit card details can be kept safer, I'd like to think that different methods can be incorporated. For example, maybe you'd like to minimize or simply limit the number of purchases you typically make over the course of time. It's a strong method to take up, as is the utilization of bank statements for greater insight. These documents can be saved so that you may reference them whenever you feel the need to do so.

As you can see, there is something of a problem when it comes to certain retailers and the protection of information. While it's unlikely that others will be affected by this, there's nothing wrong with taking further precautions in protect oneself. The best way to go about such an endeavor is to work with trusted retailers more often, Amazon being one of the strongest names to consider. Payments should also be done with care, which is where PayPal and other services can prove useful. Customers, to put it simply, are not without options.
