Why A Waring Convection Oven Is Better Than A Microwave

By Jason Eve

Known for their quality, there are many reasons a person might choose a Waring convection oven over a traditional full-size, or even a microwave. This is a kitchen tool which had lost some of the popularity as the microwaves became popular. However, the microwave did not suit all the same needs, and therefore was an inadequate replacement.

These ovens are much more efficient at cooking food than the traditional full-sized model. They work by circulating the heated air with a fan, allowing less cooler air in the heated zone, and thus cooking the food more quickly. In fact, as a general rule, it is recommended to set these ovens at fifty degrees less than one would set a traditional model.

Microwaves were never going to be able to replace traditional ovens, because they do not actually cook or brown food. It simply heats already cooked food by allowing microwaves to pass through the glass or plastic and heat the moisture inside the food. Other than baked potatoes, microwaves never worked as a proper replacement to traditional cooking methods.

The only real benefit of a microwave is that left over meals can be easily reheated, providing some convenience. As most households came to possess a microwave, a number of frozen ready-made, microwave-ready meals came into the market. These made it easier for busy working families to throw a dinner together.

In the past twenty years, the incidences of diabetes and heart disease have skyrocketed, and many people blame ready-made foods. The sodium, cholesterol, and sugar content of frozen meals is much higher than cooking foods from scratch. Not only that, but there is a possibility that the microwaves actually lessen the nutritional value of the food.

The Waring convection oven can provide one with the best of both. It can cook much more quickly than the conventional style, but it does not irradiate the food as a microwave does. They are also smaller than traditional ovens, which makes them perfect for motor homes and travel trailers.
